MANILA – Maxine Medina will represent the country in the upcoming Miss Universe pageant in an attempt to score a back-to-back win for the Philippines.
The 25-year-old was crowned by reigning Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach as the new Miss Philippines-Universe on Sunday.
Even if she had just won Binibining Pilipinas, Medina told ABS-CBN News that she already feels the pressure to do well in the international competition.
That's why she is already appealing for support from her fellow Filipinos.
“Pakiusap ko lang po is sana full heart po kayo to support me kasi hindi niyo po alam ang feeling ng first timer talking to everyone, thousands of people on stage. 'Yung time na 'yun, super nervous ako. I admit that,” she said. “I need your prayers and full support guys, for the Philippines.”
Before she begins her Miss Universe preparations, get to know more about Medina with some of these bits of trivia gathered by ABS-CBN.
